A Little About Silver Springs.

Welcome to Florida's first ever tourist attraction!

Silver Springs is a collection of freshwater springs feeding into the famous Silver River in Marion County FL. It is the site of the oldest commercial tourist attraction in Florida, and was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1971. It is home to a wide variety of animal species, including manatees and the nonnative rhesus monkeys.

Because of it's natural beauty, abundant wildlife and pristine waters, Silver Springs has been the site of choice for several films and television series throughout history. Among these; "Tarzan the Ape Man" and the popular series "Sea Hunt". Today, Silver Springs State Park continues to offer a number of recreational activities from kayaking/canoeing, paddleboarding, bicycling and their popular glass bottom boat rides.
